embedding safety: Altogether recognizes safety year-round

At Altogether, safety is not just a monthly event; it's a way of life. While Safety Month in October serves as a poignant reminder to focus on safety, we firmly believe that safety should be embedded in our everyday operations. In this blog, we'll explore how Altogether recognizes safety beyond Safety Month and invites our business partners to join us in fostering a culture of safety.

Our safety strategy: The pillars of success

To ensure the safety of our people, Altogether has developed a comprehensive safety strategy that rests on four pillars of success:

1. Leadership: Our leaders play a pivotal role in fostering a safety-first mindset. They actively participate in safety initiatives, conduct routine leadership walks, and ensure safety consultation is a top priority in all team meetings.

2. Culture: Safety isn't just a set of rules; it's a culture we aim to cultivate. Our goal is to make safety a part of our DNA, and this starts with a robust safety system.

3. Process and Systems: We're committed to maintaining and continually improving our processes and systems. This includes formalised incident investigation procedures to identify the root causes of accidents and near-misses.

4. Training: Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to safety. Our training doesn't just focus on 'how,' but also 'why' and 'what,' ensuring that understanding is deeply ingrained.

Measures of success

We believe in tracking our progress. To gauge our success, we rely on measures such as engagement surveys, the completion of safety initiatives, and the frequency of hazard reporting. These metrics help us continually refine our approach and prioritise safety.

This month

We are redoubling our commitment to safety. We have crafted a comprehensive safety plan with a clear time frame, outlining specific actions and milestones to further enhance safety across all our operations. Safety Month is not just a symbolic gesture for us; it's an opportunity to reinforce our dedication to the wellbeing of everyone involved in our projects.
